Busy, busy, busy…… X

Hello my loves, hope your all well 🙂

It’s such a busy time at the moment. It’s the end of year at college and we’re coming up to the Summer holidays at school ( only 4 weeks left, hoorah x). And then there’s the crochet!! I don’t know whether I’m coming or going!!

The sales on my shelf are easing off a bit now, so I don’t feel as much under pressure as I did. I have had a few private orders. One was for a purple tulip cardigan….

image

I use a pattern from a gorgeous book called Little Crochet by Linda Permann………

imageimage

I’ve also had a request for a white cardigan of my choice. I’ve chosen this pattern…….

image

It’s beautiful once completed.

I bought a gorgeous ball of wool a while back, just because I liked the colour!!

image

I didn’t have a clue what I was going to do with it until now. I’ve decided to crochet a cushion cover for my comfy chair…..

image

Using simple granny squares for the front and I’ll crochet a huge granny square or the back.

imageimage

That’s all for now my loves, I’m off to finish the ironing before Gavin, Daisy and Charlie return from tae kwondo

Good bye for now my loves and happy crochet x x x

Long time no see!!! Xxxxx

Hi my loves, I hope your all well and enjoy this glorious sunshine of sorts!!!!

stylecraft n hats 014

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post but I’ve been that busy crocheting I just haven’t had the time!!

I’ve been busy creating monsters, cute baby slippers and gorgeous little owls….

imageimageimage

we’ve also been making the most of the sunshine. I’ve been sunbathing  gardening, whilst Daisy and Charlie have been enjoying their pool.

image

There is another reason I’ve not been blogging. Since having my iPad I just cannot be bothered to get my computer out!! Blogging on the iPad is soooo tricky and sooo temperamental. I’m blogging from it at the mo’, I’m having to go really slowly!! If I make a spelling mistake it’s hard to put it right, I also have to complete my text before I add my pics. Every so often it freezes on me, aaaaaahhhhh the stress of it all.

Hay ho, practice makes perfect. If anyone knows of an easy way to blog from an iPad could you please let me knows x

Just recently I’m having a mad attempt at getting my Granny square blanket done, it’s looking really fab. Once it’s finished I’m going to make cushions to match. I will put a pic on soon my loves.

I’m off to crochet now before the damn thing freezes on me again. You wouldn’t believe how long this has taken !!

Good bye for now my loves and happy crochet x x x x

P.s please excuse errors and spelling mistakes x 😉

May Bank Holiday x x x

bank holiday may 016

Hi my loves, I do hope you’re enjoying your weekend and this glorious sunshine.

We were up at the crack of dawn, Gav was busy strapping the bikes to the car, I was making picnic food and Daisy and Charlie were gathering deck chairs, balls, bats and frisbees.

We decided to spend the day at Clumber Park, it was fab. We climbed trees….

bank holiday may 021

I’m not sure who enjoyed it more!!

We ate ice creams and played on the park….

bank holiday may 031

We cycled around the lake and then went back to the car to eat lunch. Daisy and Charlie decided they were too hot sitting in the sun so……

bank holiday may 040

Sat in the boot of the car !!!!!!!

We had a great time.

My shelf at ‘Made Moments is doing really well…..

bank holiday may 013

I’d not managed to pop in for a couple of weeks. I was shocked when I popped in on Saturday to find my shelf almost empty!! I dashed home and down to the shed to fetch more stock……

bank holiday may 009

That’s better x x

The whole of the shop is looking lovely….

bank holiday may 010

bank holiday may 012

The little shop is on your left on Victoria Road Netherfield. It really is worth a look if your passing through. There are lot’s of lovely hand-made gifts by local crafters. Bev also stocks beautiful sweet smelling soaps and candles, yummy 🙂

Did you notice the stripey elephant sitting on my shelf? I shared the beginnings of it on my last post and had some interesting comments!!

bank holiday may 002

Here she is with her flower behind her ear x x

I also finished Beach Bear Rita…..

bank holiday may 001

Wearing her snazzy swimming costume. She was sooo quick to make x

I also whipped up a box skirt bunny….

bank holiday may 042

and an order for two pairs of ballet slippers….

bank holiday may 005

I added pretty roses on the sides, they looked beautiful. I forgot to take a pic of them 😦

Well that’s all for now my loves. I just have one more pic to share with you, my gorgeous children Daisy and Charlie, best buddies, most of the time!!

My new toy x

Good evening my loves, haven’t we had a lovely weekend weather wise. I was sooo pleased to see my Primulas had come back to life….

blanket pom pom 017

The rhubarb isn’t looking too bad either….

blanket pom pom 018

hmmm, more rhubarb wine!!

I’ve been busy, busy sewing up my Granny blanket, it’s taking time but I’m really pleased with it. Want to see?….

blanket pom pom 001

Looking good eh? Top tip, I sew on the diagonal, this way you can sew whole rows together without having to stop and start….

blanket pom pom 002

Do you see what I mean. I zig zag my rows using long lengths of yarn.

Okay. I recieved a new toy in the post last week. I’ve had my eye on these for a while……

blanket pom pom 003

Pom pom makers 🙂

You can make a pom pom in about 5 mins. It’s so quick and easy and very straight forward but i’m going to show you anyway ;)…..

You open up one half of your pom pom maker…..

blanket pom pom 004

Then begin winding over your yarn…..

blanket pom pom 005

It doesn’t have to be neat. Once you’ve done this side close it and do the same on the other side….

blanket pom pom 006

Until it looks like this….

blanket pom pom 007

Now it’s time to get snipping, like so….

blanket pom pom 008

Snip one half, then the other….

blanket pom pom 009

Cut a length of yarn wrap it around the pom pom maker and tie it tight….

blanket pom pom 010

Now comes the good bit. (Little things really please me!!!)

blanket pom pom 011

And pull the pom pom frame apart….

blanket pom pom 012

Taaaa, daaaa…….

blanket pom pom 013

There you have it. A lovely pom pom. It just needs a little trim.

I bought my pom pom maker from amazon, They come in a pack of two….

blanket pom pom 015

Well I love ’em. I’m thinking of making lot’s of these lovely fluffy balls and attaching them to a wreath. I’ll keep you posted on that one 🙂

My shelf at ‘Mademoments’ is doing really well. I’ve sold 5 things so far and I’ve had lot’s of positive feedback, plus orders. I really can’t believe it x

I’ve been busy making a tea-cosy for my shelf….

blanket pom pom 016

Taaa, Daaaa…..

blanket pom pom 026

I’ve not attached the pom pom yet, I’m really not sure!! Is it too big? Does it look ridiculous or is it abit quirky? Feedback would be most appreciated x

I’ve started a new project today. I chose these colours of gorgeous wooly goodness….

blanket pom pom 024

I do love these yummy colours together. Well, it’s started out like this….

blanket pom pom 025

And next week I’ll show you the finished thing, hopefully 😉

Goodbye for now my loves, thank you for your lovely comments and support x x

Happy crochet x x x x x

Granny Goodness and Exciting News x x

Aside

Hello my loves,

I wanted to share with you my granny circle squares with you. I have finally completed all 315 of them, hoooorahh!!

The bad news is I’ve got a feeling I might need more, aaarrhhh!! To be honest with you I’ve quite enjoyed crocheting them. Wednesday night I laid them all out, careful not to put two of the same colour next to each other, well….you know what I’m like 🙂

Would you like to see?……..

harry potter 2013 189

I love, love, love it sooo much. So much so, I don’t really mind making more if I need to.

I’ve made it 15 squares by 21……

harry potter 2013 186

I’ve done it like this so that it sits just under our pillows and will hang over the sides of our bed. The weight of it will be so beautifully cozy 🙂

I’ve started sewing a few of them together….

harry potter 2013 187

It’s going to take time!!  And then of course I have to add the border.

Would you like to hear some exciting news? of course you would 😉

Well, I was at knit ‘n’ natter a couple of weeks a go. One of the girls was telling me about a new shop that had opened just down the road. I nipped out to do a few chores yesterday and on my way past I decided to pop in. Boy am I glad I did.

This is the lovely little shop…..

harry potter 2013 198

It’s called ‘Made Moments’ and is owned by a lovely lady called Bev. She sells the most beautifully scrumptious bath bombs…..

harry potter 2013 192

Soaps……

harry potter 2013 195

harry potter 2013 197

harry potter 2013 194

Bath mitts, natural sponges and more.

harry potter 2013 196

It is beautiful, the smell when you walk in mmmmm.

The other great thing about this shop is that Bev rents out shelves to crafters. When we were talking about it at K ‘n’ N I wasn’t too sure about it. But the little shop was beautiful, really well set out, it wasn’t what I expected at all. So I jumped at the chance and I’ve rented a shelf for three months. I dashed home and down to the shed to pick out some crochet goodness, it was sooo hard choosing what to display. I re-priced everything and dashed straight back to organise my little shelf…….

harry potter 2013 190

Here it is. It’s not a huge shelf but that is reflected in the very small rental charge. I think I did very well to squeeze on a good variety of my crochet goodness. There’s something for everyone x x

Here’s another pic, I managed to get in the shelf above…

harry potter 2013 191

You’ll notice a few empty shelves, they’re actually all sold and awaiting their owners to display their goods. There are cards, sweets, hand sewn items, jewellry and a 90-year-old lady has knitted some children’s cardis, you can just about see them in the pic above in lovely wooly piles.

Do you see the cute little girl lamb with the flower tucked behind her ear, her name is Baaarbara. I got a text from Bev at ‘Made Moments’ earlier today to tell me Baaarbara had sold, hoooorah, joy of joys, eeeekk!!!!! My first sale. Heres to many more. Keep your fingers crossed for me my loves x

That’s all for now my loves. Next time I have a new purchase to share with you 😉

Good bye for now and happy crochet x x x x

A Grand Day Out x x

Hi my loves, I hope your all still enjoying the holidays. I most certainly am 🙂

We’ve had such a fab couple of days.
On Tuesday we drove down to Leavesden, which is about 20 miles from London. We stayed in a lovely hotel over looking a marina. We had a good meal out, followed by a nice sleep. We were up early, packed and ready for breakfast, so that we could get on our merry way!!

And that was it, we were heading for the Warner Brothers Studios, to see the making of Harry Potter. We were sooo excited. I nearly wet myself as we drove into the car park, there in the distance I could see the Knight Bus, eeeekk!!

We had a little explanation about the day from a tour guide, followed by a short film. Then the excitement started. The video screen rose upwards and behind it were the doors to The Great Hall, woo, hoo……

harry potter 2013 007

harry potter 2013 020

It’s just amazing to think that it was all filmed here. I took about 200 pics on our wander round, I won’t spoil it for you too much 😉

We saw the dormitory, the common room, Hagrids house and sooo much more. We also went into a green room where you had your picture taken flying a broomstick over London. We had a family picture taken of us in the blue car that hit the Womping willow tree.

Daisy and Charlie took wand lessons….

harry potter 2013 087

They managed to cast all of their spells successfully 😉     Daisy moved so quick she’s a blur!!

We saw the prop cage, the Ministry of Magic and more. We then went outside for a yummy lunch and tasty coffee. We sat next to Harry’s house on Privet Drive….

harry potter 2013 104

harry potter 2013 105

And I got a proper look at the Knight Bus…

harry potter 2013 106

The buildings out side were fab…

harry potter 2013 112

harry potter 2013 113

We headed back inside to see, lot’s more props, costumes, make up and this little cutie….

harry potter 2013 125

Do you remember these? of course you do!! The damn thing popped up out of its plant pot frightening the life out me!!

We walked around for hours, and then we came to one of my favourite parts……

harry potter 2013 137

Diagon Alley.

I wanted to walk into each and every one of those shops. Instead I peered through the windows. Each shop was sooo amazing x

harry potter 2013 141harry potter 2013 150

harry potter 2013 147harry potter 2013 151

We walked along a bit further, through the small models. Into this room. It blew me away x

harry potter 2013 170

It’s a huge model of Hogwarts. Absolutely amazing 🙂

harry potter 2013 166harry potter 2013 174

Into the final room.

harry potter 2013 178

It has 4000 wand boxes. Each box has a name on it. They’re all the people who worked on the film. A guide pointed out the actors names.

harry potter 2013 185

harry potter 2013 181

harry potter 2013 182

Here are just a few that I spotted.

We had an absolutely fantastic day out. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s not too expensive either. At the beginning the guide told us we would complete the tour in 3 hrs. He said the longest tour any one had was 10 hrs. We did it in just under 4 hrs. We’re already planning on going back, it really was that good 🙂

I’ll be back tomorrow with Granny blanket love news. I’ve also got something exciting to share with you.

I must be off my wine glass needs a top up 😉

Good bye for now and happy crochet x x x

Happy Holidays x x

stylecraft n hats 015Hi my loves, How are you? I’m very well thank you. I’m really enjoying the Easter break and we’ve got another week before we go back, hoorah x x

Yesterday I took Daisy and Charlie on the train to Leicester to do a bit of shopping. I love shopping in different places and I’d not been to Leicester in years. There are some lovely little boutique shops on The Lanes in Leicester which are sooo nice x

As we were walking down The Lanes, I heard the kids say ”Oh no”. Do you know, they had spotted a yarn shop before I did!! I bought them some sweets before we went in, with the promise I wouldn’t be long, tee, hee!!! I bought this little beauty…

stylecraft n hats 024

A ginormous ball of duck egg blue Aran. It’s 400g…….

stylecraft n hats 025

It can be machine washed and tumble dried which is always a bonus. I’m not sure what to do with it yet?? I’ll keep you posted x

After lot’s of shopping and buying we met up  with Gav and he brought us home. I dashed in the house, sorted their tea and grabbed my project to take to knit ‘n’ natter. I love Wednesday evening knit ‘n’ natter. It’s such a nice group of people to sit and well, natter with!!!

stylecraft n hats 006

It’s great to see what everyone’s busy making…..

stylecraft n hats 007

And it’s great to share ideas with each other…..

stylecraft n hats 011

This is my crochet pal Sally aka Mad Sally…..

stylecraft n hats 012

She didn’t actually crochet anything last night. Instead she caused havoc and had everyone in fits of laughter, sooo funny :)))))

It was a lovely hat and a few of us decided we wanted to make hats for ourselves. We all managed to complete our hats for last nights hat fashion show!!……

stylecraft n hats 010

Anita, Sally(Bev), mad Sally and me wearing our gorgeous hats 🙂

At knit ‘n’ Natter I try to sit at different sides of the table each week so I can admire and plan projects with all the delicious yarn. Imagine my delight when I spotted Anitas new stock of Stylcraft DK…….

stylecraft n hats 005

The colours are soooooo goooood. I want it all x         Let’s have a few close ups….

On to the crochet then. I’ve just finished these cute little owls….

stylecraft n hats 022

Bank Holiday Monday x x

Hi my loves, I do hope your having a lovely relaxed Easter 🙂

I’ve spent most of today in the garden. I’ve been itching to get out for a while, the snow has been driving me bonkers!!!!

Charlie helped Gav empty out the compost bin, Daisy swept the patio and I got down on my hands and knees and began the weeding. I love it. I love neat and tidy. It gives me such satisfaction to see the soil turned over and the edges cut nice and neat.

wordblog010413 040

After a rowdy game of football and me shouting watch the bulbs every five minutes, Daisy, Gav and Charlie went in. It was sooo peaceful, so peaceful that my chirpy friend came out to join me…

wordblog010413 039

Tweeting away and nibbling at the worms.

I decided to go in myself after a while. I had to pop into my little shed first. I love it in there and can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can dash down the garden and hide, he, he!!

My shed is very neat and tidy at the mo’, I had a clear out of odd balls of yarn. I gave them to a lovely lady at Knit ‘n’ Natter as her friend is making toys for poorly children. I havn’t shown you my shed for a while, would you like to see?…..

wordblog010413 043

I must get busy crocheting the cushion covers for these inserts. I told you I like neat and tidy!! My stock is all packed into boxes ready for the next craft fair.

wordblog010413 044

I love sitting here, surrounded by my stuff, drinking coffee, enjoying the peace, aaahh x

wordblog010413 045

Getting inspiration for my next project. I love my jars of buttons, ribbons, pins…heaven!!

A couple of weeks back a friend of mine asked if I could make her a tea cosy for one of her friends. My brief was it had to be red and it had to be plain! I don’t do plain very well!! so. I made three red tea cosies. I took them to my friend where we had a tea cosy fashion show! She chose two, this was the rejected one….

wordblog010413 046

Well….It’s not very plain is it!!!

Back in the house I found Gave doing this…

wordblog010413 048

Woooo, Hoooo. I so deserve a glass of wine after all that gardening.

wordblog010413 047

Yum, yum. This wine is rhubarb and blackberry. The best part is that the ingredients came from our garden.

wordblog010413 050

Oh my, we usually get five bottles and a bit out of one jar. Gav bottled ten bottles all together. The left over is in the fridge, waiting for me to finish here!!!!

I really should share some crochet before I go!!

We completed our new kitchen a while ago now, I really do feel it needs brightening up. So I’ve been busy creating these little beauties…

wordblog010413 052

Colourful crocheted cotton triangles for my bunting.

I’m using this yarn…

wordblog010413 053

My favourite creative cotton. It’s becoming very rare, my local yarn shop is struggling to get it in!!!

I’m using this for my border….

wordblog010413 054

A very cheap dishcloth cotton yarn. I love cotton it always looks so neat.

Well that’s all for now my loves. Look what’s appeared on the side….

wordblog010413 051

Good bye for now and happy crochet x x x x

Welcome

Hello my loves and welcome to my new blog page.

I’ve struggled so much with blogger i’ve switched to wordpress. I’m going to go back abit and share some projects with you that I sooo wanted to share ages ago. so here goes…

After Christmas I spent along time here….

christmas2012 023

sitting in front of the fire crocheting Gav’s blanket.

I spent hours and hours on it. Everytime I picked up another project he moaned he wanted his blanket finishing!!!

christmas2012 025

You can see how big it is here and that was folded in half! The finished blanket fits our king sized bed. The outcome of finishing the blanket is I’ve got painful crochet elbow!

I’ve also been busy crocheting these cute little slippers…

christmas2012 029

christmas2012 030

christmas2012 031

Sooo cute, the pattern came from Mamachee. Daisy and Charlie love theirs, although Charlie spends most of his time skidding up and down the tiled kitchen floor!!!

That’s all for now my loves.

Good night for now and happy crochet x x x
